Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1959.
In 1973 attended a photo workshop, and started his first photo lab. In 1979 moved to the USA and attended Brooks Institute of Photographic Art & Science in Santa Barbara, California, graduating in 1982.
In 1983 moved to Los Angeles, working as a photographic assistant in different studios. In 1987 moved back to São Paulo, Brazil, starting a photo studio specialized in advertising photography. In 1995 started to work as a Director of Photography - Cinematographer on advertising films.
In 1998 started working exclusively as a Cinematographer.
